Pop Will Eat Itself - The Independent Years: 1981-1988

Large Format (28cm x 25cm) / Hardback / Full Colour / 360 Pages

1200 PRINTED. A BOX OF 5 FOUND. 2 LEFT.

Written by Paul Snell (PWEINATION / The End Of The Decade Blues) in collaboration with Adam Mole (From Eden / Wild & Wandering / PWEI)

Edited by Soxan Pance

Foreward by Miles Hunt (From Eden / The Wonder Stuff)

All heroes have an origin story…

This mighty book - the first in a three-part series - documents the pre–PWEI post-punk bands From Eden (the band that also spawned The Wonder Stuff) / Wild & Wandering and the independent years of PWEI - from indie-rock upstarts to their transformation into a ground-breaking indie/rock/rap/dance outfit with the release of the landmark single ‘Def.Con One’ and their head-on collision with The Designers Republic in 1988.

With unprecedented access to the personal archives of Chris Fradgley (From Eden), Richard March (Wild & Wandering / PWEI), Adam Mole (From Eden / Wild & Wandering / PWEI), and John Sale (PWEI tour manager), it offers a visual feast of memorabilia as well as seldom seen / previously unpublished band photography by Gayle Atkins, Tony Barratt, Phil Nichols, Robin Palmer, Ian Tilton, Dave Travis, and more.

The books narrative is interspersed throughout with Adam Moles own ‘Partial Recall’ notes and annotations. Its jam packed with over 400 high quality images of rare tour posters, T-shirts, memorabilia, record releases and Poppies’ Hijinks!

All this plus comprehensive gigography / discography sections make this one of the most lavish, in-depth documents of any band out there… and there are two more volumes to come!

You lucky people!
